GRAHAM WALKER THE CARILLON Thousands of spectators took in the Manitoba Stampede and Exhibition on July 17 to 19. Above, riders take part in team penning, where competitors attempt to separate identically numbered cattle from the herd, drive them the length of the arena and then corral them in a pen, all within a designated time frame. However, uncooperative cattle challenge the rider’s skill to handle their horses, coordinate with other riders and keep control of the chaos. The event was part of the Ag Fair portion of the popular Morris event.
