Long weekend activities keep Southeast busy

Those looking for something to do this Louis Riel Day long weekend have a whole lot of options for getting out, getting active and enjoying the great outdoors in southeastern Manitoba.

In Steinbach, the Mennonite Heritage Village will host its winter carnival today from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The event will include skating, sleigh rides, snow bowling, snowman golf, smoosh races, snow castle building contests and other activities for adults, children and families.

Niverville will host their Family Snow Day today from noon until 3 p.m. at the Niverville Arena, with the event featuring public skating, a toboggan hill, snowman building, snowshoe races, Actif Epica races, and other activities.

The St Malo Winter Festival of Friends continues through Sunday with events going on in different locations in St Malo including a fireworks show, a voyageur breakfast, an artisan market, a Metis themed mass, Actif Epica races, a vintage snow and shine, a pea soup making contest and other activities.
