The Mennonite Heritage Village invites everyone to come celebrate a slice of Manitoban heritage this Saturday.

The museum will offer free admission to all during their Manitoba Day festivities. Manitoba Day celebrates the passing of the Manitoba Act in 1870, when Manitoba became Canada’s fifth province.

Activities will begin at 10 a.m. with a pansy-planting workshop for kids, and “Yoga for Gardeners” instruction for adults.

A flag-raising ceremony will commence at 11 a.m. with speeches from local dignitaries and a performance by choral ensemble Accent, followed by birthday cake.

At 1 p.m., the museum will officially open new exhibit The Art of Mennonite Clocks. The exhibit is in cooperation with the Kroeger Clocks Heritage Foundation, and showcases 33 Mennonite clocks and their stories.
