The Bethesda Foundation announced Wednesday they have named Linda Peters their new executive director.
She has been appointed to the position following the recent announcement of the retirement of outgoing executive director John Peters, who will be leaving the position after 10 years in the role.
“I am very much looking forward to the opportunity to work with the Bethesda Foundation which has been a pillar of the community for many years and has created access to so many health services in the region,” the incoming executive director said in a press release.
“One of my passions is to contribute to being a better community. We should always strive to do better and with intentional efforts and by forming collaborative partnerships, we can achieve that,”
Peters stepped down from her role as executive director of the Steinbach Chamber of Commerce earlier this year and was previously a long-time employee with Steinbach Credit Union.
Bethesda foundation chair Garth Reimer said in a press release that the foundation appreciates the many years of service given to them by John, and now look forward to moving forward with Linda.
“The board certainly appreciated the work of outgoing executive director John Peters, and thank him for his many contributions and wish him well in his retirement.” Reimer said.
“We consider ourselves fortunate to have found a person like Linda who has the necessary experience, knowledge of the community and a strong network of businesses and individuals to take on this important role.
She will officially take over the executive director position at the Bethesda Foundation on Jan. 15.
