Tim Hortons’ employees Rose Nicol and Amanda Mitchell, and Recreation Opportunities for Children Inc. Eastman (ROC Eastman) executive director Moni Loewen were all smiles while holding up Smile Cookies at the Tim Hortons at 118 Brandt Street in Steinbach on Monday morning.

The Tim Hortons’ Smile Cookie Campaign will see Steinbach Tim Hortons locations sell cookies for one dollar throughout the week. All money raised from the sale of the cookies will go to ROC Eastman, an organization that works to get children into recreational programs and activities. ROC Eastman provides assistance with the costs of activity registration, transportation, equipment and supplies, as well as giving unique and specialized learning programs to families they work with in the Eastman region.

Another chance to support ROC Eastman will happen in one week’s time as the local organization has been selected as Ste Anne Co-op’s charity of choice for in the Western Canada Fuel Good Day. On Tuesday, Sept. 19, co-ops will donate five cents of fuel sold to the charity.
