A 14-year-old girl died on Saturday morning in a two-vehicle crash in the RM of Montcalm.

Police arrived on the scene of the collision on Highway 14, eight kilometers west of Highway 75, around 10:30 a.m.

Police said in a release on Sunday that investigation has shown that a westbound vehicle, driven by a 24-year-old male from Maryfield, Saskatchewan, crossed the centre line and collided with an eastbound vehicle, being driven by a 62-year-old male from Ste Agathe.

The 14-year-old, who was a passenger in the westbound vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The three other occupants were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The 62-year-old male driver was not injured.

Seatbelts are believed to have been in use and alcohol is not considered a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
