Winnipeg Police released details on Tuesday afternoon of their activity in the St Malo area on Monday, part of an ongoing investigation into the murder of Camille Runke in Winnipeg last Friday.

At a Tuesday afternoon press conference, police confirmed they were seeking Kevin Runke, the murder victim’s husband, who they said was a person of interest in the case.

Police said around 11 a.m. on Monday, a vehicle known to be associated with Kevin Runke was observed in the area. When police attempted to stop the vehicle it drove into a wooded area and came to a stop. Members of the Winnipeg Police tactical unit and the RCMP emergency response team were deployed after police said there were fears the man may have been armed.
